Z Hotel, established in 2010, is the original boutique hotel on Zanzibar, blending contemporary London-inspired design with the island's rich history. Located on the northwestern tip of Nungwi Beach, the hotel offers easy access to crystal blue waters and white sandy shores. Situated 65 kilometers from Kisauni Airport, Z Hotel is easily accessible via road transfers that showcase the lush landscapes of Zanzibar. The hotel's prime location on Nungwi Beach ensures guests can enjoy swimming year-round. Nearby attractions include the famous Mnarani Natural Aquarium and various local markets, allowing tourists to immerse themselves in the vibrant culture of the island.

Staying at the hotel was a delightful experience. The rooms were beautifully decorated with Philippe Stark furniture and four-poster beds, overlooking the pool and beach. The service was exceptional, with thoughtful details and incredibly friendly staff. The location right on Nungwi beach was perfect for enjoying the best of both the pool and beach vibes. While the dining options were good, a few more selections would have been appreciated.
The hotel is located at a nice beach with excellent swimming possibilities, offering great detailing and decor in the rooms. The restaurant, partly above the sea, provides very good food. However, the rooms could have been a few meters bigger and some noise was noticeable.
My stay at the Z Hotel was simply amazing! The hosts were incredibly kind and upgraded me to a ground floor room with a lovely garden and pool view. The large balcony provided a perfect spot to unwind. The only downside was the slightly high price.
I had a mixed experience at the hotel. The rooms were lovely and comfortable but a bit tiny, decorated nicely with Philippe Starck furniture and flat-screen TVs. However, being placed at the bottom of the staircase meant being woken up by other early departing guests pulling their bags down the stairs.
The hotel offers clean and mid-size rooms at a reasonable price, featuring a nice balcony overlooking the pool and partial beach view. The service is warm and accommodating, and the location provides direct beach access with plenty of activities. The dining options are exceptional with a stunning view, but some parts need renovation.
